Something Round was an exhibition about walking, solitude and social interaction. Margaret Flood spent a month walking the Bruce Trail around Hamilton, having interactions and conversations with other solitary people she met on the trail. Prompted by a curiosity about how people move through and relate to shared spaces, Flood explored the perceptions and experiences of an unnamed—and possibly not self-identified—a community formed by uses of the Bruce Trail in Hamilton. The exhibit included a collection of objects and photographs that were printed on newspaper, reflecting the ephemeral quality of the project and of daily experiences.
Margaret Flood holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, 2004, and an MFA from the University of Guelph, 2009, and currently resides in Hamilton, Ontario. Margaret uses everyday objects to consider duration and biography.
